Welcome to the website for the AVID Program at ACSS!
This will be a place for students and parents to find out a little more about the AVID program at ACSS. This is a general site which highlights certain aspects of the program.
AVID strategies are key to success in both post-secondary and the work place, and will be an important part of each course. Topics covered are:

* Organization of Binder, Agenda, and Time Management
* Goal Setting
* Critical Thinking; Costa's Levels of Inquiry
* Communication and Problem-Solving Skills
* Socratic Method of Investigation

* Tutorial: Working with peers to achieve a higher understanding of courses

* Field Trips and Speakers for job future, inspiration, and team-building
The program focuses on helping students achieve their full potential. AVID students should have the desire to improve in order to achieve their post-secondary goals. We look forward to meeting and encouraging you on your path to success!
Applications for the program are accepted in the spring for intake in September of the following school year. Applications can be found at the office.
